Professional Development Days (PDD)
What are Professional Development Days?
Professional Development Days (PDD) offer Job Partners the opportunity to bring their entire student team together to focus on professional growth and help integrate them into the company culture. PDDs are flexible to the needs of a company or the skills of an industry and supplement the training students already receive. You are in control of creating the agenda for the afternoon. The CWSP Team is available to provide support and/or examples of a successful PDD agenda.
How does PDD work?
Professional Development Days provide Job Partners valuable time to work with their entire student team, or requested students, for an afternoon. PDDs are held on academic half-days, allowing students to participate without conflicting with their class schedules. On the designated day, your your student team will be transported by CWSP to join that day’s student worker from 1 - 5 p.m.
How can your company maximize PDDs?
On PDDs, companies can engage with their student teams in various activities including:
- Info Sessions: Share important company updates and insights
- Workshops or Panels: Conduct a career-driven or skills-based workshop or an employee panel
- Mentorship: Facilite one-on-one or group mentorship sessions
- Job Shadowing: Allow new students to shadow and learn from their more experienced peers
- Interactive Events: Host an event for networking and understanding the company’s culture and operations.
